A powerful header by Steve Cook sealed a fine 1-0 win at Newcastle for the Cherries and lifted them out of the relegation zone. Bournemouth made 5 changes, including the first full start for Callum Wilson since a serious injury in January. He looked very sharp, although he did miss a couple of good chances, including one which he would normally put away.
Bournemouth started the game slowly and Newcastle had the better of the first half with Begovic making some fine saves to keep the Cherries in the game. The second half was a different story with the Cherries dominating with Pugh hitting the post before Cook eventually scored the winner in the last minute.
Hopefully, this will be the turning point for the Cherries season.
