The next season’s Premier League (2017-18) will start with three teams being promoted from the second level of English football which is called the Championship. Three teams will also be relegated from the Premier League, the first of which was decided a few days ago and that team is Sunderland.

Two teams have already gained promotion to the Premier League and they are Brighton and Newcastle. They have been the two teams who deserve to go up in my opinion owing to their more or less consistent time at the top of the Championship this season. Brighton have never played in the Premier League since its inception in 1992. Newcastle are much more familiar with the Premier League having only spent one season in the Championship after being relegated in 2016

There are now 4 teams in the Championship with a chance of getting promoted. The team finishing 6th will play the team finishing 3rd over two games with the winners playing against the winner of the match between the teams finishing 4th and 5th respectively. The teams will play each other at Wembley to ultimately see who will be promoted from the Championship with Newcastle and Brighton.
