This weekend saw another exciting weekend in the English Premier League. Whilst there was not a full schedule of Premier League matches due to the FA Cup this weekend there was still lots of action.
The most exciting game was at Bournemouth where the home team beat West Ham 3-2. Early in the game Bournemouth won a penalty, but Joshua King failed to score from it. A minute later West Ham went up the pitch scored themselves. King who had missed the penalty redeemed himself by scoring in the 31st minute with a well taken effort. Bournemouth then won themselves another penalty, but yet again missed from the opportunity. This time Benick Afobé being the culprit.
Bournemouth continued to dominate the game and King scored his second goal in the 48th minute. Bournemouth controlled the game until it looked like they were going to slip up when in the 83rd minute under André Ayew equalised for West Ham. Bournemouth continued to push on looking for the winner and King notched his hat-trick in the last minute. A well deserved win for the south cosst team. It was an emotional win for Bournemouth because they had not won for six games and were getting close to the relegation Zone.
The big relegation battle of the day was at Hull who welcomed Swansea. Both teams have new managers and have started to pick up a bit off form. Hull dominated the game and went out 2-1 winners with substitute Oumarr Niasse scoring twice.
In the only other game that was played on the Saturday, Everton comfortably pushed aside west Brom 3-0.
Sunday’s game saw Liverpool take on Burnley at Anfield. Liverpool’s poor form against the lower placed teams continued when they went a goal behind to an Ashley Barnes goal in the first half. Georginio Wijnaldum equalised for Liverpool on the stroke of half=time and Emre Can’s long range goal won them the game in the second half. Burnley still remain without an away win this season.
