Everton’s Wayne Rooney became only the second player ever to score 200 goals in the Premier League when he scored after 35 minutes against Manchester City. This is a truly remarkable achievement which demonstrates the quality and consistency which Rooney has had throughout his career which started at Everton who he initially joined when he was only 9 years old. He made his debut for Everton at the age of only 16 and played 67 times for them before going to play at Manchester United where he played 393 times before returning to Everton at the start of this season.
Everton fans will be happy for him to have scored tonight as will fans of his old club Manchester United because the goal he scored came against their bitter rivals Manchester City.
The game on August 21 ended up 1-1 with Sterling equalising for City.
