Cherries lose bottom of table game

AFC Bournemouth

The Cherries travelled to bottom of the table Norwich and came away with nothing after suffering a 1-0 defeat with the goal coming from a 33rd minute penalty which Pukki finished.  The penalty was awarded against Cherries captain Cook who instinctively saved a goalbound shot with his hands. He was sent off and Bournemouth had to play with 10 men against 11 until Norwich’s Godfrey was red carded in the 76th minute for an out of control tackle on Callum Wilson.

The Canaries had most of the possession, but did not really threaten too much. When they did, the Cherries keeper Ramsdale, pulled off fine saves. Both Gosling and Wilson had good chances to equalise, but failed to finish.

The Cherries are in a desperate situation now and must get points from the next games against Brighton and Villa.  It was good to see Aké and Smith back and hopefully other injured players will be back shortly to bolster the team in their relegation battle.

The only consolation about the day was the breadth and depth of good pubs for those that were in Norwich.
