Huddersfield will play in the Premier League for the first time since it was formed in 1992. They are are a team with a long history, although they have not played in the top tier of football since 1972. In 1926 Huddersfield became the first English team to win three successive league titles. A record matched only by Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United.

They beat Reading on penalties in the Championship Final which was played at Wembley Stadium on May 29. There were no goals and few chances after the first 90 minutes of play and so the game went to extra time. Again no goals were scored and so the game went to a penalty shoot out which Huddersfield won 4-3.

Whilst it is a great achievement to be promoted to the Premier League, they will also be the favourites to be relegated.
