Maya Yoshida the Japanese defender played his 100th game for Southampton in a dull, yet dramatic 0-0 draw at home against Southampton. A largely dull game was marked by a dramatic penalty save in the last minute after the Hull defender N’Diaye fouled Yoshida. The Hull goalkeeper Jakupovic made a spectacular penalty save which meant the game stayed at 0-0. So no big celebration for Yoshida.

Yoshida joined Southampton in 2012 and has played consistently well for them. He plays regularly for the Japan national team and has also captained them on several occasions.
