Manchester United were possibly surprised by the intensity and quality shown by the Cherries and were lucky to come away with all three points. Bournemouth started well and dominated periods of the game, but were unable to score, largely due to a very impressive performance by De Gea, the Man United goalkeeper. Bournemouth had 14 shots with 7 on goal compared to United’s 9 shots and only 2 on target.
The difference between the two teams was a 25th minute header by United striker Lukakau which the Cherries keeper Begovic should have done better with.
A really disappointing night for the Cherries given they had played so well.
