The Cherries drew 3-3 in the south coast derby at Southampton.
Bournemouth started terribly and were a goal behind after 12 minutes when Long scored a deflected shot off Aké. The Cherries continued to play badly until the 20th minute when slick passing from inside their own penalty box all the way to the Southampton box saw the move finished off by Dan Gosling.
Southampton should have taken the lead again when Long missed an open goal, but this miss was the turning point in the first half. The Cherries started to play and dominated the rest of the half and went into the break with a 2-1 lead after Wilson had scored from close range.
For much of the second half the Cherries were outplayed and were rewarded by goals from Ward-Prowse(55th minute) and Targett(67th minute).
Cherries were not dead though and Wilson put away a fine cross from Fraser in the 86th minute. They should have taken all the points when Wilson was clean through and had his effort on goal saved in the last minute.
