In a remarkable last home game of the season, the Cherries beat 9 man Spurs 1-0 with a last minute Ake goal. In an open first half both teams created chances with Spurs being stopped on several occasions by Man of the Match goalkeeping debutant Travers.
The game changed in the few minutes round the break. Son was sent off in the 43rd minute for aggresively pushing Lermar to the ground and then 2 minutes after the break the Spurs substitute Foyth who had come on at half time lunged into a tackle with Simpson and was given his marching orders. The irony was he had replaced Dier who should have been sent off for a second yellow on two occasions, one of which he should have conceded a penalty.
Bournemouth made hard work against the 9 man Spurs until Ake headed home in the last minute. A good way to end the last home game of the season.
