AFC Bournemouth’s fine run of form continued with a 2-1 win at home against Arsenal. The Cherries came from a goal behind to win the game through goals from Callum Wilson and Jordon Ibe.
The game was not a classic and the Cherries had to work very hard for the win. Eddie Howe set the team a little more defensively than usual and this tactic paid off with team being more solid at the back and still managing to effectively attack.
Arsenal’s young full back Maitland-Niles hit the crossbar in the first half, but other Arsenal chances were limited until they scored through Bellerin in the 52nd minute. Begovic almost stopped the shot, but it trickled over the line to make it 1-0 to Arsenal.
Bournemouth were not to be defeated and Fraser’s low cross split the Arsenal defence and Wilson snuck in to make it 1-1 in the 70th minute. Ibe who has found his best form since signing from Liverpool scored his first goal for the Cherries in the 74th minute after the ball was knocked down to him by the hardworking Wilson.
A fine victory for the Cherries!
