Bournemouth made a great start when they scored after only 4 minutes when Aké pressured Barnes who then headed into his own net. The lead did not last long and Burnley were ahead after only 20 minutes. A poor piece of goalkeeping from Begovic allowed Wood to head in after 18 minutes and then Mepham cleared poorly which allowed Westwood to score. The Cherries should have scored more goals in the first half, but Wilson headed a clear cut chance over and then Brooks shot tamely at the goal.
The Cherries second half performance was arguably the worst of the season and the game was finished off when Barnes scored in the 56th minute. A bad day for the Cherries, who are still not guaranteed Premier League football next season.
