English side Manchester City were dramatically knocked out of the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

The Champions League Quarter Finals are played over two matches with first the game between Manchester City and Monaco being played in Manchester and the second game being played in Monaco, France. Manchester City dramatically won the first game by 5 goals to 3. It was really quite a remarkable game and things were looking quite good for Manchester City as they travelled to Monaco hoping to qualify for the the Champions League.

Monaco dominated the first half and took a two-goal lead through Mbappe (8′ minutes) and Tavares (29′ minutes).

The second half was a different story with Manchester City attacking hard and scoring a goal through Sané (71′ minutes). This gave Manchester City an aggregate lead of six goals to 5 against Monaco.

However the drama was not over with Bakayoko (77′ minutes) scoring for Monaco to make the overall scores of the two matches 6-6. The rules of this tournament dictate that if the scores are equal overall after the two matches then the team which has scored more goals away from home qualify.

That meant that Monaco went through to the semi-finals of the Champions League because they had scored 3 goals away from home compared to Manchester City who had only scored one away goal.
