Traditionally football matches in England kicked off at 15:00 (3PM) on a Saturday afternoon, although this changed with Television Companies buying the rights to show matches on the television. They wanted to spread the match schedule over more days so that they could show more live games during the week. So now the English Premier League games are kicking off at different times.
These are the main times for matches:
Saturday 12:15
Saturday 15:00 – this is still when most games are played
Saturday 17:30
Sunday 13:00
Sunday 16:00
Monday 19:45
Occasionally during the season there can be games on the Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday evenings.
One the most celebrated times of year to watch football is during the Christmas and New Year period when there are games on Boxing Day (December 26) and also on New Year’s Eve (December 31) or New Year’s Day (January 1).
Whatever the date you can be quite sure that almost all games will be sold out.
