Last game of the season defeat

AFC Bournemouth

The Cherries went down 5-3 in their last game of the season at Crystal Palace.  A terrible first half saw them concede 3 goals, 2 from Batshuayi and an unfortunate own goal by Simpson, after only 37 minutes before a super strike from Lerma in the 45th minute saw them go in 3-1 down at the break.

Ibe made the game more interesting when he scored Bournemouth’s second after 56 minutes, but then Van Aanholt made it 4-2 in the 65th minute.  The game became more interesting again in the 73rd minute when King scored from a corner to make it 4-3.  It did not take long before Palace regained their two goal advantage when Townsend scored in the 80th minute.

This result highlighted the defence frailties which the Cherries must fix next season otherwise they will always be a risk of relegation.
