AFC Bournemouth won their first Premier League game of the season 2-1 after scoring twice in the first 12 minutes.
Their first goal came from a King penalty after Wilson was brought down after 45 seconds. The second came from Harry Wilson from the edge of the box. These 2 goals stunned the Villa crowd who were silent for most of the first half.
Villa saw more of the ball and chances during the second half, but fluffed their chances. Douglas Luiz scored from a fine strike from outside the box after 71 minutes. The Cherries should have been given a second penalty when King was fouled, but nothing was given.
The Cherries showed their increased maturity by closing the game down and doing enough to stop Aston Villa. A great start to the season for the Cherries with 4 points from a possible 6.
