The Cherries finished the last game of the season with a fine 2-1 win at Burnley. In a scrappy match played under glorious sunshine Burnley took the lead through a lucky goal from Wood. A shot from Westwood was heading wide when it struck the fortunate Wood and went in on 39 minutes.
Bournemouth took increasing control of the game and the three substitutions of Wilson, Defoe and Gosling made a significant difference with the tempo of the game lifted and Bournemouth creating more chances. King should have a penalty when he was tripped by Lennon, but amazingly the referee did not give it.
King finished well in the 74th minute before Defoe stole the ball from a Burnley defender in the last minute and then passed to Callum Wilson who casually netted. A fine and well deserved win for the Cherries. A good way to end the season in front of their many travelling fans!
