The Cherries can take heart from the chances they created despite losing 3-1 to Manchester City. They faced an uphill battle when they allowed Aguero to score from 8 yards out after only 15 minutes and then Sterling snatched a goal from 10 yards out after 43 minutes.
Bournemouth left back had to be stretchered off in the first half and his replacement Harry Wilson made an impact in the 45th minute when he struck an unstoppable free kick home from 25 yards.
The Cherries came out the second half more confidently and created several goal scoring chances, but good saves from Ederson prevented them from scoring, City made it 3-1 after 64 minutes when Aguero scored his 400th career goal.
The Cherries worked hard, kept their discipline and had more shots on goal than City during the game.
The game was another example of how City use tactical fouls to slow the game down and the impunity which referees give them. Two of the players could have seen red, but a blind eye was turned by the referee.
