AFC Bournemouth played well and deserved their first away win of the season with a fine 2-1 victory over Stoke City. The Cherries went ahead after 16 minutes when Andrew Surman slotted the ball in from 20 yards. The lead was doubled 133 seconds later when Afobé was hacked down by the Stoke defender Shawcross in the penalty box. Junior Stanislas put the penalty down the middle to make it 2-0.
The Cherries continued to create chances and dominated the first half against a very poor Stoke City. The windy conditions favoured Bournemouth who like to play football on the ground compared to the more direct approach which Stoke have. The Cherries were put under more pressure in the second half and Mame Biram Diouf pulled one back in the 63rd minute for Stoke. Bournemouth held solid and walked way with the three points. Mark Hughes the Stoke manager is under increasing pressure after another poor performance.
Bournemouth have been getting better as the season has gone on and will need to be at their best next Saturday afternoon as they face League Champions Chelsea at Dean Court(Vitality Stadium).
