I was happy to be at Bournemouth’s last home game of the season which saw the Cherries beat Burnley 2-1. I was on my way back from Africa to Canada and was able to stop in England for the weekend. The traditional big breakfast was followed by three pints of fine ale from the Cricketers pub before the game.
Getting tickets for the game was not easy and I had to pay around double the face value and had to buy two tickets for the match – 45 English pounds for each ticket. It was good to have two tickets because I could invite an Aussie friend who I had not seen for 5 years and who had just moved back to England.
The game was quite a good one with Bournemouth in control. Stanislas calmly passed the ball into the net in the 25th minute just in front of where my seat was. Unfortunately, I was also close to Burnley’s 83rd minute goal which came from a Vokes glancing header. The Cherries were soon back in the lead when King marked his 16th goal of the season two minutes later.
A great day which was rounded off by two more pubs and a family dinner!
